2024 International Fan of the Year:

Tom McCormack

Tom McCormack

Tom McCormack discovered the NFL & the Pittsburgh Steelers in September 1979 while on a University College Dublin freshman rugby tour to Florida. He adopted the Steelers at the end of their four Super Bowl wins in six seasons. NFL coverage was scant back then, but luckily US Marines that were teammates on the Dublin Celts had US channels in their residence and all listened in to AFN Radio if games were not available!

He later worked on PR & Communications with the late greats Dan Rooney and Tony O'Reilly, CEO of Heinz USA, on the growth and development of the Ireland Funds. The American Ireland Fund and the others played a key role in bringing peace to the island of Ireland. Tom organizes the Annual Global Fan Photo and Steelers' Charity Run Walk on Labor Day weekend in Ireland. He volunteered on PR & Communications for American Football Ireland, the national body for the 20 kitted and many flag teams on the island. The Steelers have provided coaches and equipment to both to assist growing these games in Ireland. Ireland hosted the European Flag Championships in Limerick in August 2023.

There is HUGE excitement in Ireland with the recent announcement of the Steelers hosting a 2025 NFL regular season game in Croke Park Stadium in Dublin. Tom is looking forward to this dream coming true and assisting visiting NFL fans enjoy their stay. #HereWeGo

2024 Fan of the Year:

Taylor Sinnott

Taylor Sinnott

Taylor Sinnott, 29, currently lives in La Mirada, California, but her familial legacy began in Western Pennsylvania. Taylor father, Garth, was a Steelers fan since the 1970s, like many others, and she followed in his shadow her entire childhood. Her biggest bond with her father came from football, with their rituals evolving as she got older. The pair drank from the same cups and had the same meals each gameday, turning the temperature of the house to match the weather the Steelers were playing in, customizing the day to make it as if they were there cheering them on in person. Garth even took his daughters across the country to see games in many stadiums and back here in Pittsburgh, making a 'Yinzer weekend' a new tradition as he showed them his favorite parts of Pittsburgh. In 2023, Taylor's father unfortunately and suddenly passed away from a major heart attack. In a fashion that she felt would honor her father most, Taylor gave a eulogy to her father that touched on their relationship and how football was a major part of that. Taylor told her loved ones, "He taught us to be tough, hardworking, and the ins and outs of every defensive football play," before going on to talk about her fond moments at games and on trips with Garth.

As a young professional, Taylor is a certified Child Life Specialist at a Children's Hospital in Long Beach, California. She uses her love and knowledge of football, especially the Steelers, to help kids through their treatments and bond with them on a deeper level. She has talked many of her young patients through chemotherapy treatments with long conversations about defensive plays and players, game outcomes, and current events in the league. She has a Madden game set up in the playroom of her hospital wing, where she will spend free time throughout the day playing against the children to give them a break from their hospital beds. She tells her close family and friends that football teaches resilience, and the community built behind the Steelers has helped her and her patients through some of their hardest times.

2023 International Fan of the Year:

Juan Soto

Juan Soto

Juan Soto represents the Steelers in the city of Morelia, Mexico. He is a husband and father of two wonderful kids. His passion for the Steelers began in 2019, when he hosted the Steelers FanClub Morelia for the first time. From then on, he continued hosting watch parties for every Steelers game. Juan traveled to his first Steelers game in 2022 and his passion for the team grew to also making efforts for his community: doing social work locally, supporting flag football initiatives and promoting the Woman 2 Woman initiative in Morelia to grow the sport among women with the purpose of women feeling more included watching Steelers games or playing the game in Morelia.

2023 Fan of the Year:

David Bogo

David Bogo

Being a Steelers fan is something that is part of who David Bogo is. He bleeds Black and Gold, so much so that he moved from Denver to Pittsburgh when he had the opportunity to have his name come off the Steelers season ticket waiting list after 19 years and become a full-time season ticket holder. While football is in his heart, so is a love for his country. Bogo served in the United States Army as an E6/Staff Sergeant for six years with Military Police, serving in Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom, suffering from PTSD following his service. He went on to be a U.S. Government Senior Security Consultant and is also certified as an Emergency Medical Technician and Texas Law Enforcement Officer.

2022 Fan of the Year:

Jim Zimmerman Sr.

Jim Zimmerman Sr.

Jim Zimmerman has been a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan since he was a child. Growing up, Jim never had the opportunity to go to a Steelers game with his father. Wanting to break the cycle, Jim was determined to take his son, James, to a Steelers home game. They always talked about it but, unfortunately, that never happened. After high school, James had joined the Marine Corps. and was off to his station in Hawaii, then overseas. Season after season, Jim would get on his game day shirt and sit in front of his television to watch every Steelers game, thinking about the promise he made about taking James to a game. In June of 2015, a man named Bill Soloway received a life-saving heart transplant. Jim's son, James, was the heart donor who saved his life.

After communicating back and forth by mail several times, Bill and Jim agreed that they would meet. Bill lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia and is an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Jim lives in Mt. Pleasant outside of Pittsburgh. Every time Bill was in the Pittsburgh area, the two would meet up, and Jim would have on a different Steelers shirt. After the third or fourth visit, Bill asked Jim about his beloved Steelers. That is when Jim told him about his wish of taking his only son, James, to a Steelers game. He thought this would now never happen.

Bill then made it his mission to take Jim to his first-ever live Steelers game. Though James wouldn't physically be there with his dad, his heart would be. Because of Jim's dedication to both his son's legacy and to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bill, too, now considers himself a true Steelers fan "at heart."

2021 Fan of the Year:

Nelson Lowes Sr.

Nelson Lowes Sr.

He coached football from the age of 20 to 65, at all levels from Pop-Warner to high school, and even overseas while he was stationed in Germany. He has served as commander at the Ligonier VFW and was the VFW PA state surgeon. He advocated for the health and wellbeing of veterans and traveled to the US Capitol to help pass legislation in favor of veterans' rights, all on a volunteer basis. As state surgeon, he would make visits to VQA Hospitals across the state of Pennsylvania to ensure veterans' rights protocol was being maintained at a high standard. As busy as his VFW schedule was, he would never miss a Steelers game and raised four kids to be upstanding citizens and massive Steelers fans.

2021 Fan of the Year:

James Bolden

James Bolden

James was nominated by his wife Nicole as a surprise to recognize him for his passion and love of the Steelers and his youth football team. He been a Steelers fan all his life and has passed this the tradition down to his family. James has been a youth football coach for 15 years and has had the opportunity to also coach his sons. He uses his love of the Steelers as a teaching tool and has become a major inspiration to his players, parents and community. One of the best Steelers life lessons James teaches while coaching is that "Things will not always go your way but if you stay the course and do what's right it will all pay off one day".
