Tim Berbenich is in his first season as the Steelers' game management/quarterbacks in 2026.
Berbenich will enter his 22nd season in the NFL – including the past two years where he served as the pass game specialist/game management for the Atlanta Falcons (2024-25). In addition to his tenure with the Falcons, he previously served in varying roles with L.A. Rams (2023), Houston (2022), Las Vegas (2018-21), Indianapolis (2013-17), Tampa Bay (2006-11) and N.Y. Jets (2003-05).
In 2025, running back Bijan Robinson, tight end Kyle Pitts and wide receiver Drake London each established themselves at the top of their respective positions.
Robinson broke Atlanta's franchise record – which had stood since 1983 – for scrimmage yards in a single season with 2,298 yards (1,478 rushing, 820 receiving). Robinson's 5,605 career scrimmage yards also surpassed Christian McCaffrey's 5,443 for the most by a player under the age of 24 in NFL history. A two-time Pro Bowler, Robinson became the second player in NFL history with at 55+ receptions and 1,450+ scrimmage yards in each of his first three seasons in the NFL (LaDainian Tomlinson). He is the only player in NFL history to record 1,400+ rushing yards (1,478) and 810+ receiving yards (820) in a single season.
Pitts is the first tight end in Falcons' history to record multiple seasons of 900+ receiving yards. He is one of two tight ends in franchise history to record 80+ receptions in a season (88). Pitts became the fourth tight end in NFL history with 10+ catches, 150+ receiving yards and 3+ receiving TDs in a game, joining Shannon Sharpe (1996), Kellen Winslow (1983) and Todd Christensen (1983).
Despite missing five games due to injury, London finished tied for second in the League with four games of 100+ receiving yards and at least one TD. He became the first Falcon to record five 100-yard receiving games and six receiving TDs in a six-game span. He was the first player to accomplish the feat since AJ Brown in Weeks 4-9 of the 2023 season.
The Falcons offense finished No. 6 in total offense in 2024 (369.8 yards/game), a marked improvement from the unit's 17th ranking in 2023. Atlanta also boasted a top-10 rushing attack for the third consecutive season, averaging 130.5 rushing yards/game. The unit eclipsed 500 yards of total offense twice in 2024, which was tied for the second-most in the League. Atlanta totaled 6,287 yards of total offense, the team's highest total since the 2016 season.
Berbenich joined the Falcons after spending the 2023 season as a coaching analyst for the L.A. Rams.
Prior to his time with the Rams, Berbenich spent one season with the Texans as the team's tight ends coach. Under his guidance, Jordan Akins registered 37 receptions for 495 yards with five TDs and led all tight ends with 13.4 yards/catch.
Berbenich spent three seasons as an offensive quality control coach for the Raiders (2018-20) before being promoted to running backs coach in 2021. That season, Josh Jacobs tallied 872 rushing yards on 217 carries with nine TDs while averaging 4.0 yards/carry.
Berbenich spent five seasons with the Colts working in various roles, including offensive assistant (2013-14), offensive assistant/assistant quarterbacks (2016-17) and defensive assistant (2015). Working with Andrew Luck in 2016, Berbenich helped the signal caller pass for 4,240 yards with 31 TDs while posting a QB rating of 96.4. The following season, Jacoby Brissett filled in for an injured Luck and threw for 3,098 yards with 13 TDs and an 81.7 passer rating.
Berbenich spent six seasons with the Buccaneers filling a multitude of roles (2006-11). From 2009-11, he was the team's assistant wide receivers coach. He worked with Mike Williams who finished second in AP Offensive Rookie of the Year voting after posting 65 catches, 964 receiving yards and 11 TDs in 2010. Berbenich also spent one season (2008) as the assistant running backs coach, working with Warrick Dunn, who rushed for 786 yards and two TDs in his final season in the NFL.
Berbenich also spent two seasons as the Bucs offensive quality control coach (2006-07). He began his NFL career with the Jets, spending three seasons as an offensive assistant (2003-04) and offensive quality control coach (2005).
Berbenich played wide receiver at Hamilton College (1998-2001), where he earned a bachelor's degree in economics in 2002.
