Steelers Senior Manager of Photography Karl Roser shares his 10 best photos from the 2025 season

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf (4) catches a 28-yard pass during a regular season game against the Baltimore Ravens, Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025 in Baltimore, MD. The Steelers defeated the Ravens 27-22. DK had a breakout game with a number of big catches, forcing me to move down field to get ahead of the play. For this image I positioned myself just inside the numbers in the end zone. (Karl Roser / Pittsburgh Steelers)

The Pittsburgh Steelers wait in the tunnel for their introduction to take the field prior to a preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025 in Pittsburgh, PA. The Buccaneers beat the Steelers 17-14. During a preseason game I was in the players tunnel getting individual player images and special moments but as the team filled the tunnel it became difficult to move around so I naturally held my camera above my head trying to change my perspective. Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Nick Herbig (51) forces an intentional grounding penalty on Minnesota Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz (11) during a regular season game, Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025 in Dublin, Ireland. The Steelers defeated the Vikings 24-21. Being very aware of field position and down and distance is helpful as a sports photographer. It was third and long, so I hurried and moved myself into the backfield where I could get a clear shot of Wentz dropping back to make a pass and hopefully being pressured by the Steelers defensive line. Fortunately for me, Herbig is incredibly effective on the third and long pass rush. (Karl Roser / Pittsburgh Steelers)

Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell (9) kicks a field goal for an extra point during a regular season game against the Chicago Bears, Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025 in Chicago, IL. The Bears beat the Steelers 31-28. The light in the Windy City was exceptional on this day. The low hanging sun in the late fall sky created ribbons of light and shadows that make it incredibly difficult to photograph in but also provide amazing opportunities to create something unique. With the team lined up to kick the extra point after a touchdown, I went with a wider view to show the scene, exposing for the highlights. (Karl Roser / Pittsburgh Steelers)

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Logan Lee (91) and defensive end Yahya Black (94) pray together prior to a regular season game against the Detroit Lions, Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025 in Detroit, MI. The Steelers defeated the Lions 29-24. During pregame in the locker room there are many small quiet and subtle moments that seem on the surface to not be much of anything but I enjoy highlighting those small moments, drawing notice to them. Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Yahya Black (94) pressures Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (8) while being held by Baltimore Ravens guard Daniel Faalele (77) during a regular season game, Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025 in Baltimore, MD. The Steelers defeated the Ravens 27-22. I love when the subjects in photographs create lines and shapes, providing movement and motion, allowing your eye to follow a natural path through the frame. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (8) warms up prior to a regular season game against the Detroit Lions, Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025 in Detroit, MI. The Steelers defeated the Lions 29-24. During pregame, the stakes are low and I am afforded the ability to try new things, position myself in different locations, or try new techniques. Here I was able to find a spot, that when timed correctly, stacked the quarterbacks. (Karl Roser / Pittsburgh Steelers)

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Derrick Harmon (99) receives the game ball and is embraced by his teammates following a regular season game against the Detroit Lions, Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025 in Detroit, MI. The Steelers defeated the Lions 29-24. These moments are special to witness and to document. Showing the close bond and brotherhood of elite athletes is an incredible privilege and honor. I enjoy the slightly elevated view over the shoulder of the players that makes you feel like you are a part of the celebration and about to extend your arm and place a hand on Harmon too. Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren (30) leaps over Seattle Seahawks cornerback Shaquill Griffin (24) during a regular season game, Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025 in Pittsburgh, PA. The Seahawks beat the Steelers 31-17. Warren had a big run and broke away from the rest of the players on the field. I love how much of the frame is clean and free from of anything busy happening. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (8) and president Art Rooney II embrace in the locker room following a regular season game against the Baltimore Ravens, Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026 in Pittsburgh, PA. The Steelers defeated the Ravens 26-24, clinching the AFC North Division title. Following this win I made my way to the locker room. I was running back and forth photographing as many celebrations and interactions as possible. I saw both Rodgers and Mr. Rooney approaching each other and I moved in close, ready for the moment.
