Tomlin's Injury Update: Oct. 22

TOMLIN'S INJURY UPDATE
"I'll start by outlining some health circumstances. Mark Barron (hamstring) is working in a partial capacity. We'll let his (practice) participation and the quality of that participation be our guide in terms of his availability (for the game). We're excited we have an extra day (before the next game), and so some of these things I'm talking about in terms of questionable availability will be aided by the additional day when you're talking about Monday Night Football.

"T.J. Watt has been slowed with an abdominal issue, and it may affect him in the early portions of the week. Some guys who have been dealing with some injuries of different descriptions are working their way back to us.

"Jaylen Samuels (knee) is starting to work; it's good to see him out there; and you'll probably get an opportunity to continue to see him out there at least in a partial capacity, and we'll see where that leads us this week.

"The same thing with Joe Haden (groin).

"Mike Hilton experienced a calf injury at the end of the Chargers game. He was slowed by that last week. He was slowed again (Monday), and it may affect him in the early portion of the week.

"Some guys who have missed some time, or missed our last game, or been less than available in some instances and are really moving beyond their circumstances are Steve Nelson (groin) and Vance McDonald (shoulder) and James Washington (shoulder). We're excited about getting some of these guys back – at least moving in the right direction in terms of partial participation and we'll get an opportunity to look at that participation and see if they can carry some roles for us this week.

"I would be remiss if I didn't mention Mason Rudolph. He has cleared the (concussion) protocol, and it's good to have him back out there to continue with his progress in terms of being our quarterback and getting us ready to play a football game and his inclusion in that."
