Mr. Welch was nominated by his distract staff who says: "Being an Apple Distinguished Educator he utilizes technology in the classroom with his students to make history come to life! He spearheaded the Districts, and the state's first digital interactive multi-media text book. He utilized educational apps such as Aurasma, kahoot, and stop-motion, to mention only a few. Mr. Welch has presented at numerous conferences, workshop, and seminars regionally and at the national level. His innovative teaching practices are contagious and he serves as an educational leader in our building, district, and region.
Mr. Welch is involved in many aspects of the student's lives. As a teacher of 10 years in the North Hills District he has had the ability to reach many students. Mr. Welch believes in giving back to the community and many of his projects include a service learning component. Mr. Welch has high expectations for his students and his students have high expectations from him... and he does not disappoint. His work ethic, sense of community, and passion for his profession is a model for other teachers. Mr. Joseph Welch is a true deserver of this award and I am sure of many, many more!"
