This offseason running back LeGarrette Blount brought his smash-mouth style of running with him when he signed with the Steelers as a free agent. He also brought his attitude with him, an attitude that is nothing but positive.

Blount, going into his fifth year, is like any other football player. He wants to be a starter. But he understands his role with the Steelers, which is to come in and give second-year back Le'Veon Bell a spell in games, while always being ready if called upon.

"You work hard and go out there and do everything as though you are the starter," said Blount.

Blount has actually leaned on Bell as he learns the Steelers offense,

"I knew I was going to come here with another guy. We hit it off from the beginning," said Blount. "He knows his playbook a lot better than I do. I ask him a lot of questions, things like that. He has shown me places to eat. I am learning things from him on and off the football field.

"We get along real well. I go to his house, we hang out and chill. Then we come here and work together. It's a good situation, a good relationship."

Blount also talked about the following topics:

On how OTAs are going: "It's fun. We are getting a lot of work done. I am learning the playbook. Everything is going smoothly."

On how comfortable he is with the playbook: "I am going to be a lot more comfortable with it in the next couple of weeks, but I am getting there."

On if he sees progress being made: "I feel like we will be exactly where we need to be, if not a little bit past it, when training camp comes. We have been working hard, putting in the time, expediting the process of learning the playbook for all of the new guys. We are going to be good."

On what he likes about the Steelers offense: "It's a power, downhill running game. You've got a quarterback that has won a couple of Super Bowls and is going to be one of the best to play this game. I like everything about it. It's dynamic with Antonio Brown, with Dri Archer. It's going to be good, I like it."

On if he would like to be a part of the no-huddle offense: "Any chance I have to get the ball I am all for it."

On what he likes about the offensive line: "They're big, they're physical. They are aggressive. I like the fact that they come downhill and love running power plays and plays that are straight forward without all the running sideways. I love that about them."

On what Maurkice Pouncey means to the offense: "He is an awesome player, a Pro Bowler. Then we have a guy in Cody Wallace that backs him up and plays his heart out. Coach (Mike) Tomlin has been praising him since we've been here. I am excited to see what he can do."

On what he has seen from Ben Roethlisberger and what kind of leader he is: "He is a really good leader. He runs the offense the way he wants to run it. I have seen him make some Tom Brady like throws. I feel like we are in a good spot."

On if he is excited about the potential the offense has: "Oh yeah. It's going to be an explosive offense."
