Fue un típico partido entre los Pittsburgh Steelers y los Baltimore Ravens, cerrado, muy defensivo y peleadísimo hasta el final. La victoría fue para los Steelers 17-10 en el juego divisional de la semana 5 de la temporada regular.
"Fue un Steelers vs Ravens, pasó lo que usualmente pasa, es un juego altamente competitivo, en años recientes ha sido controlado por las defensivas y hoy también lo fue", esto fue lo que comentó Mike Tomlin en la conferencia de prensa después del partido.
El partido estuvo 10- 3 desde el final de la primera mitad, la ofensiva nuevamente no tuvo el mejor arranque del partido pero estaba moviendo el balón sin lograr culminar las series con puntos. Lo que cambió el juego fue el safety provocado por la patada bloqueada por Miles Killebrew cuando faltaba poquito más de 2 min para que terminara el tercer cuarto.
Esto fue lo que comentó Coach Tomlin sobre la jugada del partido: "No puedo decir lo importante que fue esa jugada de Miles Killebrew, usualmente cuando tapas una patada en la National Football League ganas los partidos y quiero resaltar esa acción como una contribución muy importante en la victoria"
Con el safety el partido se puso 10-5 pero todas las unidades se alimentaron con la energía del momento junto con todo el Acrisure Stadium. Después de eso Boswell puso tres puntos más en el marcador para poner el juego 10-8 y cuando todo se veía pendiendo de un hilo con los Ravens muy cerca de anotar, Joey Porter Jr. se llevó su primera intercepción en la NFL en un momento importantísimo del partido.
Esa intercepción dio pie a la ofensiva y en esta ocasión regresó nuestra conexión favorita, Pickett a Pickens y con un increíble pase profundo Jorgito superó la cobertura hombre a hombre y llevó el balón 41 yardas hasta el touchdown. El juego estaba 10 -14 a favor de Pittsburgh.
Lamar Jackson y compañía regresaron al campo, pero apenas en la segunda jugada de su serie ofensiva se hizo presente la dupla letal, Alex Highsmith con el sack/fumble y T.J. Watt recuperó el balón para los Steelers.
La ofensiva de los Steelers produjo 3 puntos más con Boswell para cerrar el marcador 10 - 17 a favor de Pittsburgh, victoria divisional, liderato de la AFC Norte y victoria 700 en la historia de la franquicia.
Los Steelers tendrán semana de descanso que servirá para reponer fuerzas, recuperar a los jugadores lesionados y preparar la segunda mitad de la temporada regular.
