This week's leftovers: 4 rookie lessons

Wide receiver Martavis Bryant had his share of ups and downs during his rookie season, but like all young players made adjustments and learned every step of the way, including these four things as he looked back on his first year.**

On how fast the season went:**

"It's crazy it flew by so fast. It lets me know the season flies by. Everybody says you have a long season, you play so many games. But it flies by."

On the difference in the schedule in the NFL:
"That was definitely a surprise. In college it went by, we played every Saturday. Here you play on a Sunday, a Monday, or a Thursday. You play a game on Sunday and have to turn around and play on Thursday. It was like, dang that is a quick turnaround. You just have to have the right mindset."

On the grind of the season:
"I had some ups and downs. Sometimes I didn't want to get out of bed but I pushed myself to do it. I didn't hit a rookie wall or anything, but there were times when your body is tired. It's been an interesting season. I learned a lot from a lot of veterans and I am thankful."

On one of the biggest surprises:
"It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It's faster, guys are bigger, but not many things changed. You are just playing against better competition and that makes you better. I think I adjusted pretty well and I hope I can continue to grow."
