The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine is underway

INDIANAPOLIS - The NFL Combine has begun in earnest.

Kickers, defensive linemen and linebackers were up first today at Lucas Oil Stadium for the first on-field workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine.

The schedule for the following three days includes defensive backs and tight ends on Friday, running backs, quarterbacks and wide receivers on Saturday, and offensive linemen on Sunday.

Texas A&M has sent the most prospects to this year's event (13), followed by Alabama (12), LSU and Ohio State (11), and then Georgia, Miami, Fla., and Oklahoma (10).

Indiana has sent nine players, the fewest for a reigning national champion since Clemson in 2017 (nine).

College Football Playoff participants Tulane and James Madison did not have a player invited.

The conference roll call breaks down as follows: SEC (115), Big Ten (83), ACC (50), Big XII (45), Independent (eight), MAC (five), AAC (four), Mountain West (three), Southland (three), Missouri Valley (two) and Sun Belt (one).

RUN FOR THE MONEY: If it works out the way it did last year, the Combine will be fast.

The average 40-yard dash time in 2025 was 4.67 seconds, the fastest in Combine history since 2003.

The fastest run last year was Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston (30th overall, Buffalo) at 4.28, which tied for the 13th-fastest 40 in Combine history since 2003.

The all-time record in the 40 belongs to Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy (28th overall, Kansas City), who posted a 4.21 in 2024.

Last year was also the tallest Combine on record, with the average participant checking in at 6-foot-21/4.
