In Reilly's first season as assistant inside linebackers coach with Jacksonville in 2024, linebackers Devin Lloyd (113) and Foyesade Oluokun (107) posted 100+ tackles, making the Jaguars one-of-seven teams in the NFL with two linebackers that registered 100+ tackles. This marked Oluokun's fifth-consecutive season with 100+ tackles. Lloyd's 113 tackles were a team high and made him the third player in franchise history to record 100+ tackles in each of their first three seasons in the League.

Reilly served as defensive quality control coach for the Jaguars (2021-23). In 2023 , he assisted with coaching a defense that was tied for the fifth-most passes defensed in the NFL (84) and tied for the eighth-most takeaways (27).

Reilly spent 2018-20 as a defensive analyst at Alabama, where the Crimson Tide made two College Football Playoff appearances and won the 2020 National Championship. Alabama's defense finished in the top 15 nationally in all three seasons when Reilly was in Tuscaloosa. He was hired by UCLA in 2016 as a defensive quality control coach prior to being promoted to defensive analyst in 2017. Reilly spent three seasons (2013-15) with Syracuse as an offensive graduate assistant, working primarily with the quarterbacks and wide receivers.

His first position with Syracuse was as an offensive intern during the fall of 2013. As an intern, he worked with tight ends and was responsible for the breakdown of opponent and self-scouting film, as well as charting plays. Prior to returning to Syracuse in 2014, Reilly briefly served as the tight ends coach at SUNY Brockport.

As an undergraduate student, Reilly, began his coaching career at SUNY Cortland. In 2010, Reilly worked as an assistant wide receivers coach and was an offensive quality control coach (2011-13). He earned a bachelor's degree in sport management in 2013. Reilly also served as an equipment intern with the N.Y Jets for training camp in 2012.
