Getting To Know: Brian Allen

Brian Allen Cornerback Utah Rookie Who is your football mentor or inspiration?
I never had one growing up. I was forced to play football growing up and I feel in love with the sport. A lot of people know my story, I switched positions, made the transition to a new one. Since I have done it it's been a big adjustment.
What motivates you?

My daughter and my family. I am married, I have a beautiful one-year old daughter, A'Mya. When I wake up in the morning I shoot them a text every day and tell my wife to kiss my daughter for me.**

What is your approach to football? **

My mindset is come out and play my part. I work hard every day. Everyone out here is on the same mission as me. I just want to come out and play my part and do everything I can to help the team win. I want to make sure we get that Super Bowl this season and continue to work hard every day.

Why do you play football?
I play football because I love this game. It's something that brings me joy and happiness on the inside. It's something I love to do. * When did you start to dream about playing in the NFL?*

Growing up I was a wide receiver so one of the guys I liked to watch was*Andre Johnson. Seeing all of his success I thought I want to be just like that guy. It ended up I had a different path, I played defensive back. When I was playing wide receiver he was one of those guys I liked to watch and I thought I can do that. I want to go to the next level and do that. It's been a dream of mine ever since I started playing competitive football. *  * When you hear Steelers, what do you think?*

Tradition. A great organization. Just everything that team means. Family, love, everything. I talked to Casey Hampton who played here a long time. He is from the area I am. I talked to him and he has given me great advice about coming in and working hard. He told me the organization is great, Coach (Mike) Tomlin is great. I have heard nothing but great things about the organization and I am just happy to be here.* *
