Stevenson Sylvester Conference Call

Linebacker – University of Utah

5th Round – 166th Overall

You are the third outside linebacker the Steelers have drafted this draft. Do you think you're going to stay there or do you think they are going to move you inside?

It's all depending on how they feel and it doesn't matter. I'm just going to work wherever they put me. I'm excited to be in the NFL. It's a dream come true. I'm just going to work. It doesn't matter if they put me on special teams, I'm just happy to be there.

Where did you talk to the Steelers? Did you know they were this interested in you?

I had no idea. I talked to them at the combine. I didn't even know if they were interested in me and they talked to my head coaches at Utah. I didn't know anything. I heard about interest in other teams but I had no idea. I'm just enjoying the moment right now. It's great.

Who's that girl yelling in the background and will she be coming to Pittsburgh with you?

My girlfriend, my niece and my cousin. The whole world right now.

Your girlfriend sounds more excited about coming to Pittsburgh than you right now.

(Laughs) I'm trying to hold it in. I'm overwhelmed with emotions. I'm trying to keep my cool.

Did the Steelers tell you whether they see you as an inside or outside linebacker?

They didn't tell me anything. I just filled out a card with my information and sent them a highlight tape and I guess they liked me. I'm honored. I'm honored to be a Steeler. It's a fantastic place. It's one of the places I'd love to play because of Mike Tomlin. He's just a great head coach. I've seen him. I love his demeanor and everything about him from what I've watched on tape and all kinds of stuff. Just to be a part of an organization that has such history and the Super Bowls and the success they've had, it's just an honor. I'm just going to take every second and focus in and get ready to go at OTA's next week.

Do you know any of the guys on the team?

We have a couple of Utah guys there. A lineman out there from Utah that I met, (Chris) Kemoeatu, and I met him when he came to Utah. I don't know many, but I hope to meet a lot when I go there.

Have you done much work on special teams? How are you covering kicks?

That's my specialty. Utah used me in my first two years there all the time. That's my thing. Covering kicks, covering punts, I can do a punt return or a kick return. It doesn't matter.
