Steelers promote Ayers; release Bullock

The Steelers have promoted wide receiver Demarcus Ayers to the active roster, the team announced today.

Ayers spent the first 14 weeks of the season on the team's practice squad after entering the NFL as the Steelers' first of two seventh-round (229th overall) draft selections in 2016.

To make room on the active roster for Ayers, the Steelers released kicker Randy Bullock.
