Ben is Digest Player of Week


The statistics were impressive indeed – a 70.5 completion percentage, five touchdowns and a 116.2 passer rating – but the manner in which he played the game was exactly what the team needed at this particular point in the season. Quick decisions and quick throws were a big part of the Steelers offense in the win over the Titans, and the way it was executed had a lot to do with the 38-17 final score.

Also considered were James Farrior, who led the team with 13 tackles and had a pass defensed; LaMarr Woodley, who had 1.5 sacks, one tackle for loss, one interception and a couple of hits on the quarterback; Troy Polamalu, who broke up three passes; Hines Ward, who led the team with seven catches and scored two touchdowns; Heath Miller, who had three catches, including one for a touchdown, and blocked like a fiend for a running attack that finished with 174 yards; and Jonathan Dwyer, who posted his first career 100-yard game in the NFL and finished with 107 on 11 carries.
