-Adams had a productive senior season as a defensive end/outside linebacker at Western Michigan that included 18 tackles for a loss and 7.5 sacks for the Broncos, who went 13-1.

-Although lacking ideal size at 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds, Adams plays with an athleticism commensurate with his background as a three-sport athlete in high school in North Carolina.

-NFL.com's scouting report projected Adams as a fifth-or sixth-round pick and drew an NFL comparison to Steelers outside linebacker Arthur Moats.

The Steelers also drafted long snapper Colin Holba of Louisville in the sixth round:

-Holba had the size (6-4, 248) Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert said you don't often see in college long snappers, who are often smaller walk-ons who can play effectively because of different rules regarding contact against long snappers in the college game. "There aren't too many draftable long snappers," Colbert said. "Greg (Warren) is moving into year 13 (with the Steelers). This will be competition for him."
