2015 (15-15/2-2): Started a career-best 15 regular-season games…inactive due to a hip injury 10/18 vs. Arizona…started both postseason contests…his 2.0 sacks during the regular season tied his career high that he set in 2014…set a single-season career-high with two fumble recoveries…totaled two special teams tackles in the regular season (one, 12/6 vs. Indianapolis and 12/13 at Cincinnati).

  • 10/12 at San Diego: Sacked QB Philip Rivers for a seven-yard loss…forced a fumble in the second half.
  • 11/1 vs. Cincinnati: Split a sack with LB Ryan Shazier.
  • 11/8 vs. Oakland: Recovered a fumble in the third quarter, the first fumble recovery of his career.
  • 11/15 vs. Cleveland: Split a sack with LB Arthur Moats…recovered a fumble in the second quarter that was forced by S Will Allen.
  • 12/6 vs. Indianapolis: Recorded his first career interception, picking off QB Matt Hasselbeck at the goal line.
  • AFC Wild Card Game 1/9 at Cincinnati: Recorded a strip sack on QB AJ McCarron, his first career postseason sack and forced fumble.

2014 (7-3/1-0): Saw action in seven games with three starts during the regular season…set a career-high with 2.0 sacks during the regular season…made his postseason debut vs. Baltimore in the AFC Wild Card Game…totaled two special teams tackles (one, 12/7 at Cincinnati and 12/28 vs. Cincinnati) during the regular season…returned to action 12/7 at Cincinnati after missing nine games on the team’s Reserve/Injured; Designated For Return List due to a right wrist injury.

  • 9/7 vs. Cleveland: Started at OLB for the first time in a season opener…recorded one sack, a 10-yarder on QB Brian Hoyer in the second quarter.
  • 9/21 at Carolina: Recorded a sack and forced fumble on QB Cam Newton that was recovered by LB Jason Worilds…marked his first career forced fumble…left the game in the third quarter with a right wrist injury and did not return.

2013 (14-8): Played in 14 games with eight starts as a rookie…inactive 10/20 vs. Baltimore due to a concussion and 12/22 at Green Bay due to an illness…set career-highs in tackles (42) and pass breakups (6)…added five special teams tackles (two, 9/16 at Cincinnati, and one, 9/8 vs. Tennessee, 9/22 vs. Chicago and 11/3 at New England)..

  • 9/8 vs. Tennessee: Made his NFL debut.
  • 9/16 at Cincinnati: Made his first career start.
  • 10/13 at N.Y. Jets: With just over three minutes left in the fourth quarter, pressured QB Geno Smith, which forced a pass that was intercepted by LB Lawrence Timmons.
  • 11/10 vs. Buffalo: Recorded his first career sack, a seven-yarder on QB EJ Manuel.
  • 11/17 vs. Detroit: Started at OLB in place of injured LB LaMarr Woodley…recorded the first two pass breakups of his career.   
  • 12/29 vs. Cleveland: Totaled a career-high nine tackles.

COLLEGE: Appeared in 34 games (eight at USC in 2009 and 26 at Georgia from 2011-12)…started all 26 games he appeared in at Georgia…as a Bulldog, recorded 155 tackles, 45.5 TFLs, 28.0 sacks, 88 quarterback pressures, one interception, five pass breakups, nine forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries…his 28.0 sacks tied Jimmy Payne (1978-82) for third-most in school history at the time he left Georgia…was a unanimous first-team All-SEC choice, as he earned All-American first-team honors from The NFL Draft Report, Walter Camp, Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, Football Writers Association, The Sporting News and Phil Steele, and he was named a finalist for the Lombardi Trophy, Butkus Award, Bednarik Trophy and Nagurski Award along with the LOTT Impact Trophy in 2012…in 2011, was a unanimous All-SEC first-team choice was named the Atlanta Sports Awards Collegiate Player of the Year, and he added first-team All-American honors from The NFL Draft Report, Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, Football Writers Association, Walter Camp, ESPN.com, Phil Steele and Sports Illustrated.

PERSONAL: Attended George Washington Carver High School (Columbus, Ga.)…was a high school teammate of Steelers’ C/G Chris Hubbard…in 2008, he was a 2008 Super Prep, Prep Star, USA Today and ESPN All-American, and was named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Super 11, named All-State Class AAA first team and named the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer’s All-City Defensive MVP as a senior…that year, recorded 77 tackles, 4.0 TFLs, four interceptions and two forced fumbles, despite being sidelined late in the season for four games with a broken thumb…as a junior, was named to the Rivals.com All-American first team, earned All-State Class AAA Defensive MVP and Columbus Ledger-Enquirer All-City Defensive MVP honors after posting 157 tackles, 26.0 TFLs, 4.0 sacks and two interceptions to help Carver win the 2007 Georgia state AAA title…played in the U.S. Army All-American Game…lettered in basketball, earning 2008 All-State honors from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Georgia Sports Writers Association…son of Gloria Dowdell and Ronnie Jones…has one daughter, Maleah…Full name: Jarvis Jerrel Jones.
