COLLEGE: Guy Whimper played in 45 games at East Carolina, starting 26…played a number of different positions, including OLB, DE, TE and both OT positions…defensively, recorded 52 tackles (eight TFL), two sacks and two fumble recoveries…as a TE, had seven catches for 122 yards…communications major. 2005: Became the Pirates’ starting LT two games into his senior season and then switched to RT for the remainder of the year…earned second-team All-Conference-USA honors…played 712 snaps on the season and finished with 30 knock-down blocks. 2004: Began the season as a defensive end before shifting to TE in the third game of the season…started the final seven contests at TE. 2003: Played in 12 games and made eight starts at defensive end and linebacker...finished the season with 27 tackles (five TFL), one sack and one fumble recovery. 2002: Appeared in 11 games as a freshman at OLB…registered 17 tackles (three TFL) and one sack…named to the Conference-USA All-Freshman Team.

PERSONAL: Guy Whimper was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but attended Havelock High School in North Carolina (Havelock, N.C.)…three-year letterman whose teams finished with a 27-7 record in those three years…all-conference selection at DE as a senior, registering 87 tackles and eight sacks…also had 14 receptions for 331 yards and five TDs as a TE…finished with nine receptions and nine TDs as a sophomore…also lettered in track and basketball...son of Guy and June Whimper…Full name: Guy Whimper.
