For the first time ever, the Steelers will hold an open practice at Heinz Field. The Pittsburgh Steelers Family Fest will take place on Sunday August 6th at Heinz Field from 5:00 p.m-9:00 p.m. (practice scheduled to begin at approximately 6:30 p.m.).  Admission is $10 for all fans. Come early and pick your seat for the full team practice. The entire 2017 team will be introduced out of the player tunnel before things heat up on the field for a night chalked full of entertainment. Upon entry, all fans receive a 1st-IN-GOAL scratch-off card. You could win sideline passes to watch your favorites up close on the field, or walk away with a signed Steelers practice jersey from any one of the players on the team. Steelers Alumni Merril Hoge, Tunch Ilkin, and Craig Wolfley will describe the action from down on the field throughout the night.

Steelers Family Fest features a number of kids activities throughout the event including interactive elements, Game Faces Face Painting, magicians, balloon artists, Steely McBeam and much more, all starting at 3pm on Art Rooney Avenue and continuing inside the FedEx Great Hall, the Ford Fanzone, and the West Concourse.

The evening will also include a viewing of the 2016 Steelers Highlight film on the new scoreboard, showcase on field performances by the Steeline Drumline, Hell on Wheels BMX Stunt Show, and Bill Camp’s Famous Flying Dogs, all while DJ Steve Maffei Jr, often featured at Steelers home games will pump up the crowd throughout the night in the Ford Fanzone. Visit a One-of-kind Lego replica of Heinz Field will be on display in the FedEx Great Hall. Master Builder Lego Artist, Jason Burik from Brick Model Design will be on hand to meet and greet fans.

In addition to the full team on field practice, the Family Fest offers unique opportunities including a photo next to all six Lombardi Trophies in the FedEx Great Hall. Also, in the Great Hall, take a photo of an iconic Super Bowl moment photo opportunity that puts you right in the middle of the action.

Be part of a great photo opportunity in the Ford Fan Zone with the Steelers Alumni who participated in one or more of the six Super Bowl winning teams:

5:30 – 6:30 – Super Bowl IX and X Champions, Frenchy Fuqua and Franco Harris.
6:30 – 7:30 – Super Bowl XIII and XIV Champions, Jon Kolb and Rocky Bleier.
7:30 – 8:30 – Super Bowl XL and XLIII Champions, Chris Hoke and Santonio Holmes

The alumni will not be signing autographs so that the maximum number of fans are able to meet them. Players and times will be subject to change.

A 50/50 raffle will be held to benefit Youth Football. Earlier in the day, the traveling USA Football Protection Tour will hold an on-field event educating players on the sport of football. Following practice, area Youth Football teams will be invited down on the field to capture their 2017 team photos.

Prior to the player introductions, a Parade of Champions march with Special Olympics Athletes, First Responders, and members of the military will take place on the field.

This first time ever Steelers Family Fest event at Heinz Field follows a 1:35 Pirates game, and a weekend full of Regatta activities on the North Shore, culminating with a Sunday night Fireworks display.

Steelers Nation Unite will be recognizing a group of winners from this year’s inaugural SNU Fan Awards, which honor some of the program's top members from 2016. The winners will be recognized on the field and on the scoreboard prior to the start of practice. Steelers Nation Unite members will also have a chance to score on-field experiences throughout the night.
