AFC comes back to win the Pro Bowl

Posted Jan 28, 2018

The AFC team, coached by the Steelers, won the 2018 Pro Bowl.

The AFC came-from-behind to defeat the NFC, 24-23, in the 2018 Pro Bowl, with the Steelers coaching staff coaching the winning squad.

Nine Steelers played in the game, eight of them starting, and here is a quick rundown of what they did today.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger:
Roethlisberger started for the AFC squad, completing seven of 13 attempts for 50 yards. Roethlisberger had one interception, which was returned 79 yards by Harrison Smith for a touchdown.

Running back Le’Veon Bell:
Bell carried the ball times for three yards, and had three receptions for 26 yards, with a long of 11 yards.

Receiver Antonio Brown:
Brown had one reception for three yards. He also got in on a little trickery, attempting a pass, but Keenan Allen couldn’t pull it in.

Defensive End Cameron Heyward:
Playing in his first Pro Bowl Heyward did the same thing he did all season, he got to the quarterback. Heyward, who finished with four tackles, sacked Jared Goff for an eight-yard loss. He was also in on the final defensive play for the AFC when Goff was sacked by Von Miller, forcing a fumble

Kicker Chris Boswell:
Boswell got the AFC on the board with a 41-yard field goal in the first quarter. He also hit on his three extra points.

Fullback Roosevelt Nix:
Nix had two carries for four yards, with a long of three yards. Not bad considering he only had three carries all season.

Offensive linemen Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro and Alejandro Villanueva:
Offensive linemen never get the glory, but all three started for the AFC squad.

Ryan Shazier was also voted to the Pro Bowl, and while he wasn’t able to play, his teammates were thinking about him.

Goon em out!
