Woodley AFC Defensive Player of the Month

Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for his dominant performances in the month of October. Woodley finished the month with a league-high 7.5 sacks, 25 tackles and one interception, guiding the team to a 4-1 record.

Woodley’s 7.5 sacks in October are the second-highest total in team history for any month. His sack yardage total (56.5) is the most by a Steelers’ player for any month.

Woodley became the first player in Steelers’ history to register at least 1.5 sacks in four consecutive regular-season games, a streak still intact. He capped off his month with a two-sack performance against the New England Patriots.
