Steelers place Colon on IR

The Steelers placed guard Willie Colon on the team’s Reserved/Injured List, the team announced today. Pittsburgh had to make a transaction before 4 p.m. today when the roster exemption for running back Rashard Mendenhall expired.

Colon made the move to guard this year after playing his entire career at offensive tackle. He has played and started in 62 career games after being drafted by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Hofstra.
