Steelers Sign Defensive Tackle Cam Thomas

Steelers sign DT Cam Thomas to a two-year contract.

The Steelers signed defensive tackle Cam Thomas to a two-year contract, the team announced today. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Thomas (6-4, 330) was originally drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft out of the University of North Carolina. In four seasons with San Diego, Thomas started 15-of-54 games played in the regular season and 1-of-2 postseason contests.

In the 2013 regular season, Thomas set career highs in games started (10) and tackles for loss (7) while tying his career high in tackles (30). For his career, Thomas has recorded 94 tackles (62 solo), six sacks, one interception, four passes defensed and 17 tackles for loss during the regular season. He has registered three tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack in the postseason.
