Steelers Release Three Players

Team releases three players prior to the start of free agency.

The Steelers released linebacker Larry Foote, cornerback Curtis Brown and offensive tackle Levi Brown, the team announced today.

Foote spent the past four seasons with Pittsburgh. He was originally selected by the Steelers in the fourth round (128th overall) of the 2002 NFL Draft and spent his first seven seasons in Pittsburgh before playing for the Detroit Lions in 2009. Foote started 104-of-158 regular season games played and 10-of-16 postseason games during his career with the Steelers.

Curtis Brown played for the Steelers for three seasons after originally being selected by Pittsburgh in the third round (95th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. In three seasons, Brown played in 34 regular-season games.

Levi Brown was acquired by the Steelers in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals on October 2, 2013. He sustained a triceps injury during pregame on October 13, 2013, and was placed on the team’s Reserve/Injured List on October 15, 2013.
