The Steelers have some good news on the injury front as defensive end Brett Keisel, who was inactive four of the last five games with a hamstring injury, is expected to be available this week.

“He is going to be a full participant at the early portion of the week and be available to play for us and that is a good thing,” said Coach Mike Tomlin.

Center Maurkice Pouncey, who left the Oakland game injured, should be good to go this week as well.

“He had a quad contusion but he is fine and may be limited somewhat in the early part of the week,” said Tomlin.

Troy Polamalu missed practice last Wednesday and Thursday with an Achilles injury, but returned to practice on Friday and went full tilt in the Raiders game. Look for something similar this week.

“Troy’s injury is still the same and we will probably rest him the early part of the week,” said Tomlin. “Of course it didn’t affect his play on Sunday and we don’t anticipate it affecting his play this Sunday.”

Will Allen, who suffered a concussion in the Cincinnati game and has been inactive the last two weeks, has been cleared to return to practice and play. On the other side of it, Matt Spaeth suffered a concussion against the Raiders and will undergo a concussion test.

“That will guide us in terms of where we go with him,” said Tomlin.

Wide receiver Antonio Brown, who was active for the first time since the Baltimore game on Oct. 3, is a question mark right now with swelling in his knee.

“It will slow him down in the early portion of the week,” said Tomlin. “He is getting it evaluated. As always when you talk about a young guy missing practice time it will put his availability in danger. I will have more information throughout the week.”
