Steelers President Art Rooney II was presented the 2013 Person of Vision Award by Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh. Rooney received the award on Tuesday night at the organization’s annual dinner at Heinz Field.

Rooney was honored for his commitment to the Pittsburgh community, which includes serving on the boards of the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum, the Pittsburgh Public Theater, and the Extra Mile Education Foundation, as well as the former chairman of the board of the United Way of Allegheny County and numerous other ventures.

“As President of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Art shows his amazing leadership on and off the field,” said Sy Holzer, President, PNC Bank, Pittsburgh and honorary chair for the dinner.  “His steadfast dedication to help make his community a better place for all of us is truly inspirational.  I am delighted to have been able honor my dear friend, Art Rooney, II, with the 2013 Person of Vision Award.”

Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh has been serving the community for over 100 years and believe in independence for those with visual impairments through rehabilitation.
