Heyward-Bey, who has 169 career receptions for 2,380 yards and 12 touchdowns, shared his thoughts on a variety of subjects.
On why he chose to sign with the Steelers: “It’s an opportunity for me to continue to play football. I love this sport and I love to win and I want to go to a Super Bowl and that is what this team is all about.”
On what he hopes to prove with the team: “I just want to have fun and help this team win. I am not trying to prove anything to anybody. I just want to go out here and play football to the best of my abilities and try to win a Super Bowl.”
On getting started now during the offseason workouts: “It’s very important. There is a good group of guys that have shown up and more are going to show up. It’s very important. If you want to win a championship you have to have guys come together for one cause.”

On what it is Coach Tomlin says that sways guys to sign with the team: “He seems like a players’ coach. He demands a lot out of you but he is going to treat you like a man. That’s what you like. A coach who can relate with you and you just have the respect for him. He won a Super Bowl and he did it the right way and you respect that.”
