Posted Jul 8, 2014

Learn more about the Steelers' second-year center/guard

The following is the latest installment of Getting To Know, a chance to learn a little more about Steelers’ players who were added to the roster over the last few years.

Position: Center/Guard

Height: 6-4

Weight: 303

College: Texas

Years Pro: 2

How Acquired: Free Agent 2013

Football Mentor/Inspiration: From the beginning it was my father, Todd Snow. He has been here throughout the entire journey. He played linebacker at Southeastern Oklahoma. At a young age he instilled the love of the game and it’s carried on through my entire career.

Proudest Football Moment/Memory: That is difficult. It’s hard to say the moment. I had the opportunity to play for championships, but the most memorable was when I was a freshman in high school and we played for a state championship and won. It was awesome because it was the guys you grew up with. That was the most memorable time for me.

Favorite Teammate: I can’t just designate one favorite. We have our groups from college. Some of the linemen we were just a close group.

Initial NFL Attraction: It wasn’t necessarily the NFL, it was the love of the game. If I didn’t love the game I wouldn’t be playing it. I just love playing, hanging out with the guys, going through practice, playing in the game. It’s the whole package for me.

Football Mindset: I am aggressive. My mindset is be hardnosed and just hit you and be as aggressive as I can.

Impression of Pittsburgh: I love it here. There are so many kinds of people but they have one thing in common, they love the Pittsburgh Steelers. Everybody here has welcomed me.

Perception of Steelers: My perception when I got here was it was a family-oriented, hardnosed football team and it is that way. Coach (Mike) Tomlin, the first day here it was family. That is what they instill here and that is part of why I love it so much. We are all a big family.

Goals/Aspirations for 2014:  Make the roster and then keep on and help this team win championship.

Career Goals: I would love to end up being a starter one day, but I finished my MBA and I will see how that goes as well.
