Brown helps kids head back to school

Posted Aug 21, 2017

Antonio Brown kicked off his foundation by donating backpacks and more to area students.

School is about to be back in session for Pittsburgh Public School students, and just in time Antonio Brown is giving back to help out those who need it.

Brown, through his Live Your Vision Foundation, gave away 800 backpacks donated by Sprayground, filled with school supplies, at Langley High School on Monday.

“It’s extremely important to do right now, especially in the time we are living in, to reach out to others,” said Brown. “I want to make a difference, give back, and do something positive and productive and encourage those in the community.”

He didn’t limit it to backpacks. Kids could get haircuts so they are looking good for the first day of school, and Brown spent time talking and interacting with the kids as they picked up their backpacks.

“I want to have the kids prepared and ready,” said Brown. “That is one less thing you want kids to worry about, not having what they need to be successful to get their work done. We reached out to the inner city to provide backpacks, school supplies, and everything ready to go back to school.

“And being here spending time with the kids, it’s important to do this.”

Brown just recently launched his foundation, something that is part of a commitment he is making to give back, inspire and motivate young people.

“I just want to make an impact,” said Brown. “We play this game, but life is about the impact we make on others and giving them the opportunity to live their vision, what they believe in. That is my vision.”
