Steelers Release Tight End, Running

PITTSBURGH — The Steelers released tight end Erik Jensen and running back Fred Staton from their off-season
roster, the team announced today.
Jensen (6-3, 236) spent part of last
season on the Steelers' practice squad after signing with the team on Dec. 20.
Jensen, originally a seventh-round draft pick (237th overall) in the
2004 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams, missed the entire 2004 season after
suffering a knee injury in a preseason game. Jenson attended
Iowa.
First-year player Staton (5-10, 251)
was signed this off-season and played collegiately at
Tusculum.
